Alpha Capital Group

A London-based prop firm with four plan families: Alpha One (1-step, trailing drawdown), Alpha Pro (2-step, static drawdown, 1:100 leverage), Alpha Swing, and Alpha Direct (instant funding, 90% profit split). Prices and rules were measured firm-wide at the official checkout and help center on September 13, 2026, and re-checked across every plan and size (list prices and help articles) on September 27, 2026. Fully automated EAs are explicitly stated to "never be approved under any circumstances"; only assistive tools such as lot-size calculators and SL/TP management are allowed. Purchases made on or after July 21, 2026 are subject to a per-symbol floating-loss cap (the Max Risk Rule).

Pros and cons

+Pros

  • ✓Alpha Pro offers 1:100 leverage (FX) — high compared to the 1:30 many competitors offer
  • ✓No time limit on any plan. The account only goes dormant after 30 days without a trade
  • ✓Choosing Bi-Weekly payouts removes the consistency rule (Alpha Pro / Alpha Three only). The plan price rises by $50 (at $100K, Pro 8% goes $527→$577, Pro 10% goes $447→$497; confirmed September 27, 2026)
  • ✓Supports four platforms: MT5, cTrader, DXTrade, and TradeLocker
  • ✓A 90% profit-split add-on is available for +10% of the plan price (Alpha One plans and Alpha Pro On-Demand only). Alpha Direct starts at 90% by default
  • ✓Payouts are processed within 2 business days. Rise, Wise, and bank transfer are supported (crypto via Rise)
  • ✓Japan is a supported country (included in the 203-country list)

-Cons

  • ✗Trustpilot's rating is suspended (as of September 13, 2026). It shows "guideline violation" and "fake reviews removed" — the score is hidden across 21,674 reviews, with 7% at 1 star
  • ✗Fully automated EAs are banned outright. Official help states EAs that "execute trades independently... will not be approved under any circumstances" and that detection means immediate account closure. Only assistive tools like lot-size calculators, SL/TP management, and breakeven moves are allowed
  • ✗EAs are MT5-only and require pre-approval (submit the EX5 file to support). They cannot be used at all on cTrader, DXtrade, TradeLocker, Swap-Free accounts, or Alpha Direct
  • ✗The Max Risk Rule (purchases from July 21, 2026 onward): on funded accounts, once the floating loss on a single symbol reaches 2% ($50K and above), 3% (under $50K), or 1% (Alpha Direct), the account closes with no warning. Re-entering the same symbol and direction within 10 minutes gets combined into the total
  • ✗There's a discretionary demotion tier called the Focused Trader Group. Once placed in it, leverage drops to 1:30 (1:15 for Swing), risk per position is capped at 1%, losing 1% on a symbol bars re-entry until the next business day, and all EAs are shut off. Getting out requires a discretionary review by the risk team
  • ✗No refund of the challenge fee (official help states "all evaluation plans are non-refundable")
  • ✗Average holding time must exceed 2 minutes. It's a violation if more than 50% of profit comes from trades held 2 minutes or less
  • ✗Alpha Pro funded accounts cannot hold positions over the weekend (treated as a soft violation — profit from that trade is deleted)
  • ✗Choosing On-Demand brings a 40% best-day rule (no single day's profit can exceed 40% of total profit). Alpha Direct is stricter at 15%, and also requires keeping a 3% buffer in the account
  • ✗There's a lot-size cap (40 lots at $100K, 20 lots at $50K for Alpha One / Pro). Profit above the cap is voided at payout review, and a second offense closes the account. It's assessed per position
  • ✗No Japanese-language support
  • ✗The payout method (On-Demand / Bi-Weekly) is fixed at purchase and cannot be changed later

!Prohibited

  • ✗HFT, latency arbitrage, and arbitrage trading
  • ✗Using the same EA across multiple traders (group-trading violation)
  • ✗Passing via signal subscriptions or copy trading
  • ✗Reverse/group hedging and order spamming
  • ✗Holding Alpha Pro funded accounts over the weekend (soft violation — profit from that trade is deleted)
  • ✗Holding Alpha Direct positions over the weekend

FAQ

Q

Can I use an EA (automated trading)?

"Fully automated EAs that trade on their own" are not allowed. Official help states that automated EAs which "execute trades independently" are strictly prohibited and "will not be approved under any circumstances," including third-party bots, fully automated strategies, HFT, and latency arbitrage, and that using one means immediate account closure. Only assistive tools are allowed. Anything classified as a "trade management tool" — lot-size calculators, SL/TP management, breakeven moves, risk management — can be approved. The process has two steps: you must select "Enable EA" at purchase, then send the EX5 file to support for pre-approval (they may also ask for the MQ5 source). This only works on MT5 — it cannot be used at all on cTrader, DXtrade, TradeLocker, Swap-Free accounts, or Alpha Direct. On top of that, to use an EA on a funded account, you need to have enabled and used it since the evaluation stage. It can't be added afterward. If multiple traders use the same EA and produce identical trades, that's treated as a "group trading" violation and disqualifies the account.

Q

What is the Max Risk Rule?

A cap on the floating loss allowed on a single symbol — the account closes the instant it's breached. It only applies to funded accounts purchased on or after the July 21, 2026 announcement (older accounts aren't covered). The cap depends on account size: 3% for $5K–$25K, 2% for $50K–$200K, and 1% for Alpha Direct at every size. It's judged on equity (unrealized loss), multiple positions on the same symbol are combined, and profitable positions do not offset it. There's also a 10-minute cooldown. If you close a position on a symbol and re-open the same symbol and direction within 10 minutes, both losses are combined toward the threshold. On a $100K account, cutting XAU/USD at a 1.5% loss and then re-entering within 10 minutes for another 0.5% loss adds up to 2.0% — a violation. This is a separate rule, independent of the max or daily drawdown, so even on an 8% $100K plan, "2% per symbol" becomes the real ceiling.

Q

What is the Focused Trader Group?

A discretionary demotion tier for funded accounts. Once you're placed in it: - Leverage drops to 1:30 (1:15 for Swing) - Max lot size is restricted (20 lots at $100K, 10 lots for Swing) - Max risk per position is capped at 1% of the initial balance (combined across symbols and entries) - Cooling-off period: losing 1% or more on a symbol bars new entries on that symbol until the next business day - All EAs are shut off (even ones already enabled get disabled) - Future purchases may be restricted to On-Demand only You get placed in it for "extreme scalping," "all-or-nothing" styles, "excessive lot size or margin use," "using a swing account for scalping," "gambling on high-impact news," or "account rolling" (buying and blowing through accounts in bulk). Getting out requires a discretionary review by the risk team — for accounts from July 21, 2026 onward, the condition is "one successful payout, the account back at its initial balance, and no open positions." You apply to `risk@alphacapitalgroup.uk`. You cannot scale or consolidate accounts while in the group.

Q

Is there a consistency rule?

It depends on the payout method. You choose On-Demand or Bi-Weekly at purchase, and it can't be changed afterward. - On-Demand: the 40% best-day rule applies. You can't request a payout if a single day's net profit exceeds 40% of total profit. The required total profit is calculated as best-day × 2.5. A minimum of 2% profit is also required. Alpha Swing only offers On-Demand, so this rule always applies - Bi-Weekly (Alpha Pro / Alpha Three only): no consistency rule. It runs on a 14-day cycle, needs a minimum of $100 profit, and 5 trading days on the first cycle only. But the plan price is about $50 higher (at $100K, Alpha Pro 8% goes $527 → $577, Alpha Pro 10% goes $447 → $497; confirmed September 27, 2026) - Alpha Direct: a 15% best-day rule. You also need to build up a 3% buffer left in the account before withdrawing, and only then can you request a payout once you're up at least 1% Note that a partial withdrawal resets the consistency score to zero, but a new cycle starts the moment you place a new trade, and the remainder from the previous cycle gets locked.

Q

Is the drawdown static or trailing?

It depends on the plan. - Alpha One (1-step) = trailing. It follows the highest balance (high-water mark) upward and locks to the initial balance once you've made profit equal to the DD width, staying put after that. On a $100K One 10% (6% DD), the breach line locks at $100,000 once you reach +6% ($106,000). Withdrawing does not lower the line. Before the lock, withdrawing all profit leaves the line unchanged; withdrawing all profit after the lock closes the account, so leave some profit in if you want to keep going - Alpha Pro / Swing / Three = static. Fixed to the initial balance, it never moves - Alpha Direct = 5% trailing. On a $100K account it starts at $95,000, moves to $97,000 once you reach $102,000, and locks at $100,000 once you hit $105,000 Daily loss is measured "from the daily open (00:00 GMT+3)." Alpha One, Three, Pro 6%, and Direct use whichever is higher — the day's starting balance or equity; Pro 8%, Pro 10%, and Swing use the balance. Either way, breaches are judged on equity, so floating losses count directly.

Q

What's the profit split? Can I get 90%?

The standard split is 80%, and a +10% add-on takes it to 90%. On a $100K Alpha Pro 8%, that's $527 → $580 (confirmed). It's available on all Alpha One plans and Alpha Pro On-Demand only — Bi-Weekly and Swing can't add it. Alpha Direct starts at 90% by default. The split can only be set at purchase, so decide upfront if you want it. Note that only on the 4th payout, a bonus of 0.25% of the initial account size ($250 at $100K) is added. Official help describes this as "discretionary."

Q

Is the challenge fee refunded?

No. Official help explicitly states "all evaluation plans are non-refundable." There's no first-payout fee refund like FTMO or Fintokei offer.

Q

What's the reputation like?

Trustpilot's rating is suspended as of September 13, 2026. It shows a warning that "this company's rating cannot be displayed due to a guideline violation" along with "we have removed a number of fake reviews for this company" — the score is hidden (21,674 reviews total, 8,627 in the past 12 months, 86% at 5 stars and 7% at 1 star). This site treats FundedElite, Blueberry Funded, and E8 Markets with the same caution for the same reason. Since you can't verify reputation with a number right now, use it on the assumption that you won't leave large balances sitting in it. Several recent reviews also report being asked for a "risk interview" before the first payout. We couldn't find any mention of this interview in official help.

Q

How do payouts work?

Payouts are processed within 2 business days of the request. You request from the "Payout" tab under "Payout and Achievements" on the dashboard, and all positions must be closed before requesting. Payment methods are Rise, Wise, and bank transfer (WIRE/ACH/SWIFT). Direct crypto withdrawal isn't offered — crypto only goes through Rise. The account is locked while the payout is processed and can resume once the balance resets. If a review turns up a rule violation, profit from that trade — or all profit for that payout period — is removed, and the remaining payment is deferred.

Q

What's the minimum trading days and time limit?

Alpha One requires 1 day; Alpha Pro / Swing / Three require 3 days per phase. A trading day counts as a day you opened and closed a position. There's no time limit on any plan, but the account goes dormant after 30 days with no trading at all.

Q

How many accounts can I hold at once?

Up to $400,000 combined, a cap shared across all five plans — Pro, Swing, One, Three, and Direct. If you already hold a $200K account, you have $200K of room left. There's also a separate $300,000-per-strategy cap, where the firm counts each symbol as a separate strategy. You can't run more than a combined $300K on the same currency pair across multiple accounts.

Q

Can I use this from Japan?

Yes. Per the official supported-country guide (updated June 30, 2026), Japan is included in the 42-country Asia bracket of the 203 countries accepted at checkout. The only country with explicit restrictions is the US, where MT5 isn't available and new cTrader customers aren't accepted, leaving DXtrade or TradeLocker. There's no Japanese-language support or UI.

Q

Which plan should I choose?

If you're trading manually and care about capital efficiency, go with Alpha Pro 10%. At $447 list price for $100K ($357.60 with `ALPHA20`), it's on the cheap end for a 10%-DD 2-step. With a 10% loss buffer, you're asked for 15% combined profit — lighter than Pro 8% (13% against an 8% buffer) or Pro 6% (12% against a 6% buffer) — and it's also priced below the 8% version, a straight-up inversion. If you want to hold over the weekend, go with Alpha Swing, though it can't take the 90% add-on and the 40% best-day rule always applies, so it's pricier for what you get. Alpha Direct isn't as good a deal as the numbers suggest. At $274.20 with `FUNDED40`, the $100K size looks very cheap, but it carries heavy restrictions — EAs banned outright, no weekend holds, instant closure at 1% floating loss on a single symbol, a 3% buffer required before withdrawal, and a 15% best-day rule — leaving you the least practical freedom. If you're planning to run an EA, this firm isn't an option (fully automated EAs are banned by policy). In Alpha Capital's expected-value simulation, run over a year at 1% per trade and a 55% win rate, Alpha Pro 10% (On-Demand) came out on top at +$20,262, with Bi-Weekly payouts close behind at +$19,906, while both Alpha One plans trailed well behind.
