Semi-discretionary EA

ELDRA

You decide how to think about entries; the EA handles exits, lot sizing, and staying inside the breach line. It's a semi-discretionary EA I've built up specifically to fight within prop firm rules.

Disclosure: ELDRA's author is this site's owner (Hosono P). This page is written by the author. It isn't a neutral review, so every number here comes with a source you can check.

438 parameters

Configurable settings

Organized into 59 sections. It works fine if you only touch the ones you need.

There are user communities too: a LINE open chat and the CAMPFIRE community "Hosono P's FX Base" (both in Japanese), where people discuss settings and share test results.

What it can do

You decide the entries

Besides manual orders, you can set up automatic entries based on signals or value conditions from any indicator you like — custom-built or off-the-shelf.

Many ways to close a position

Combine stop loss/take profit, closing by fixed amount or % of balance, trailing stops, partial closes, time- or weekend-based closes, and closing on an opposite signal.

Choose how lot size is decided

Pick from fixed lots, compounding, or compounding scaled to your stop-loss distance, among others. Averaging down and grid trading are available too, but off by default.

Safety features built for prop firms

Settings that close everything and stop just before the breach line, or stop on daily loss. Includes presets for specific firms.

Every feature works in backtesting

Test with the exact same settings you'd run live, in the MT5/MT4 Strategy Tester.

Who it's not for

  • Anyone looking for an EA that wins just by installing it and leaving it alone. ELDRA is a tool. You decide where to enter with your own method, so if your method has no edge, ELDRA won't make you a winner either.
  • Anyone wanting to scale up fast with averaging down or martingale. The features exist, but they lead straight to breaches or rule violations at most prop firms, so they're switched off in the recommended settings.
  • Anyone who uses it without checking the firm's rules. EA policies differ by firm. For The5ers, I've confirmed with their Japan contact that it's fine, because ELDRA is semi-discretionary — you set the parameters yourself. Check the EA rules comparison for other firms.

How to get it

Try it for free first

Backtesting and demo accounts are unlimited (live accounts get a 3-day trial). Prop firm accounts don't count even if they're technically demo accounts — you need an account that's been authenticated, for example by buying through an affiliate link.Download the MT5 versionMT4 versionELDRAf v4.43. Put it in MQL5\Experts via MT5's menu "File → Open Data Folder" and restart. Usage instructions are onHosono P's note (in Japanese).

Use it with a prop firm

Buy a challenge from Fintokei, The5ers (coupon JZWLR for 5% off), or Funded7 through this site's affiliate links, and you get unlimited use of ELDRA on that account. The steps are written up on note (in Japanese).

Buy it outright

¥30,000 each for the MT4 and MT5 versions on Gogojungle (1 account).

Use it through the community

Members of the CAMPFIRE online community "Hosono P's FX Base" (in Japanese) get unlimited use.

Let AI handle backtesting and optimization

Connect an AI agent to prop-memo's MCP and you can automate ELDRA's MT5 backtesting and optimization too. With an AI that can run commands on your PC, like Claude Code, just ask something like "run XAUUSD M15 for 2025 and optimize the stop-loss distance," and it will build the tester config, launch MT5, read the resulting report, adjust the settings, and repeat. Backtesting is unlimited even in the free version, so you can go this far before buying.

The best number an optimizer finds tends to be "overfit" — it only fits that particular period. Split your data (optimize on the first half, check on the second) to verify it.

Ask AI for configuration help

Beginner walkthrough

ELDRA × AI agent basics: connect → configure → safety limits → backtest, step by step

From setting up Claude Code, through building a .set matched to a prop firm's rules, automating backtests, and watching out for optimization pitfalls — explained in 9 steps.

prop-memo's MCP includes tools built for ELDRA, and anyone can use them free, with no API key. Even while you're still deciding whether to use it, ask things like "can I build my own method with ELDRA?" or "who's it for and who isn't it for?" and it will answer. Hand a .set file to an AI like Claude and it will point out configuration mistakes (no way to close a position, using a price condition on an oscillator, and so on) and build you a corrected .set. Ask something like "what settings should I use on a ¥20M Fintokei account?" and it will return a setup that stops just short of the breach line, based on that firm's max loss and daily loss limits, along with things to watch out for.
