FAQ

Q

Can I change strategy mid-challenge or after passing?

The Challenge-line plans (ProTrader, Swing, Slim) have no consistency rule, so as long as you stay within the profit target and loss limits, you're free to set your own pace. Changing your approach mid-way is fine. That said, two plans carry a daily profit cap from the start. SwiftTrader caps it at 3% of starting capital, and StartTrader caps it at 40% of the profit target. Hit the cap and all positions are auto-closed, with the account going read-only until UTC 00:00 the next day (9:00 JST). Confirmed on the official help center as of September 27, 2026.

Q

How many accounts can I hold at once?

There's no limit on the number of accounts in evaluation, but there is a cap on the combined starting capital of your Pro Trader accounts, per plan. The Challenge plan (including Swing and Slim) caps at ¥50M total, SwiftTrader at ¥35M total, and StartTrader at ¥20M total. If you hold accounts in multiple currencies, they're converted to USD to check the cap. If you're over the cap, promotion of a new account to Pro status is held until an existing Pro account fails. Capital added via Point Stage or Scaling Dojo doesn't count — the cap is judged on the original starting capital. Confirmed on the official help center's "Can I open multiple trading accounts?" article as of September 27, 2026.

Q

What is the 3% risk rule, and what happens if I violate it?

This is a rule capping the maximum allowable risk on open positions. On April 15, 2026, the judging method was simplified from the old VaR calculation to "realized loss + floating loss, combined." There are two units of judgment: (1) trade-idea level (overlapping positions in the same instrument and direction) and (2) trade-group level (all positions open at the same time, across instruments) — either exceeding 3% of starting capital is a violation. What matters is how a violation is handled: a single instance doesn't fail the account, but the penalty escalates. At 3+ accumulated warnings the allowable risk drops to 1%, and at 6+ warnings the cap applies to all your active accounts. In other words, repeated violations effectively lock you into a 1%-per-trade account. If you cap your per-trade risk at 1% from the start, this restriction changes nothing for your trading — and since Fundora and Forge of Traders also cap at 1%, standardizing on 1% across the board makes sense if you're running multiple prop firms at once.

Q

Which plan offers the best value?

By price relative to account size, the Challenge plan's Sapphire (¥20M, ¥109,800) is the cheapest at 0.549%. SwiftTrader's Platinum (¥20M, ¥93,800) is even cheaper at 0.469%, but its overall loss limit is only 3%, so you'll need to re-buy more often. We ran a one-year simulation comparing the two in Fintokei's expected-value article. For beginners, Quartz (¥1M, ¥12,500) or Crystal (¥2M, ¥21,800) is a good starting point. Confirmed on the official site as of September 27, 2026.

Q

How do Swing and Slim differ from the standard Challenge plan?

The profit target (8%→6%), loss limits (5% daily, 10% overall), 80% split, and no time limit are all the same as the standard Challenge plan. Swing bases its daily loss line on the account "balance" (closed trades only) at UTC 00:00. The standard version uses equity at UTC 00:00, so carrying a floating profit raises the line — Swing isn't affected by carried floating P&L in this calculation (though the failure judgment itself is still on equity). Every instrument is also swap-free. Leverage, however, is lower than the standard version (25x FX/gold-silver, 20x stock indices vs. 100x/50x). Slim offers spreads from 0.0 pips on 16 major pairs and from 2.0 pips on gold (9:00-26:00 JST, top-of-book only), plus a round-trip commission of ¥500/lot on FX and metals. Pricing is identical for both, from ¥15,000 (Quartz) to ¥254,800 (Topaz). The ¥50M Emerald size is standard-plan only. Confirmed on the official site and help center as of September 27, 2026.

Q

How does SwiftTrader differ from the Challenge plan?

The 2026 overhaul changed SwiftTrader's terms significantly. It's now 1-step with a 6% profit target and a 90% split (100% for Diamond only). The DD limits are -2% daily and -3% overall (based on starting capital, and this doesn't move even after payouts), evaluation is capped at 60 days, and daily profit during evaluation is capped at 3% of starting capital. Every payout requires at least 3% of starting capital in profit. Leverage is 25x FX/gold-silver, 20x stock indices. The Challenge plan, by contrast, is 2-step (8%→6%) but has more room in its DD (-5% daily, -10% overall), 100x leverage (50x for stock indices), no time limit, and an 80% split. With only a 3% overall DD, SwiftTrader forces you to keep per-trade risk under 1% to coexist with the daily rule. If you're running a mechanical or automated strategy, the Challenge plan is the more straightforward choice. SwiftTrader suits traders who want to reach a Pro account fast in a single evaluation, or who prioritize the higher split. Confirmed on the official site and help center as of September 27, 2026.

Q

Can I use averaging down or martingale?

Yes, both are allowed. That said, the usual DD limits still apply as normal, so risk management still matters.

Q

Can I trade directly from TradingView?

Yes — Fintokei is unusual in offering direct TradingView integration. You can place orders straight from your chart analysis.

Q

What is the Point Stage (loyalty program)?

A system where you earn XP (points) from trading and other actions to climb ranks. Ranks never drop, and points don't expire. At the top rank (Rank 6, 30,000 XP), perks include a +20% reward rate, +2% easing on both the daily and overall loss limits, +25% capital, and a free Sapphire Challenge account. Confirmed on the official site as of September 27, 2026.

Q

Is the fee refundable?

Under "Scaling Dojo" (launched June 3, 2026), reaching the first rank — "white belt" — refunds an amount equal to your fee. The conditions are 20 active trading days (days with a new order) and 2 payouts. Promotion isn't automatic — you need to apply to support. This applies to the Challenge plan (including Swing and Slim) and SwiftTrader (for accounts created on or after August 18, 2025); StartTrader is not eligible. Further ranks (yellow, green, brown, black belt) increase your trading capital by +30% to +300%. Confirmed on the official blog and help center as of September 27, 2026.

Q

Is the Slim plan still available to buy?

Yes. As of September 27, 2026, the official site lists 6 sizes from Quartz Slim (¥1M, ¥15,000) to Topaz Slim (¥35M, ¥254,800).

Q

What's the payout cycle?

You can request your first payout 2 weeks after your first trade on a Pro account, then every 2 weeks after that. The minimum request amount is ¥20,000 for the Challenge plan and StartTrader. SwiftTrader requires at least 3% of starting capital in profit for every payout (¥600,000 on a ¥20M account). All positions must be closed to request a payout. The overall loss line stays fixed at the starting-capital level even after payouts. Confirmed on the official help center as of September 27, 2026.

Q

What was the April 2026 risk management rule change?

As of April 15, 2026, the old VaR calculation was scrapped in favor of the "3% rule": a floating loss exceeding 3% of account balance while a position is open is a violation (judged at both the trade-idea level and the concurrent-position level). The daily DD (5%/3%) remains unchanged. Warnings accumulate: 3+ warnings caps allowable risk at 1%, 6+ applies the cap across all your accounts, and 10+ can lead to termination of service.
