Pros and cons

+Pros

  • ✓2 Step has a static 10% max loss (based on the initial balance) and 5% daily. $100K is $550
  • ✓2 Step's split rises with each withdrawal: 70% on the first, 80% on the second, 90% from the third on
  • ✓No time limit on trading
  • ✓EAs (automated trading) are listed as "Allowed" in the rules table. Weekend holding and swing trading are also OK
  • ✓A Python bot can trade automatically via the TradeLocker API (verified in live use on this site)
  • ✓VPN/VPS are allowed (on condition you provide VPN login history to the risk team)
  • ✓1 Step allows scalping (closing within 30 seconds) and grid trading (not allowed on 2 Step)

-Cons

  • ✗⚠️ Your first 3 withdrawals are capped at 5% of the account ($5,000 on a $100K account). Profit beyond that is forfeited, and the account resets to the initial balance at each withdrawal. Gambling-style trading extends this window by another 3 withdrawals
  • ✗⚠️ 1 Step's 5% max loss trails your highest equity upward and never comes back down (nothing in the rules says it stops at the initial balance). Daily is also a tight 3%
  • ✗No fee refund (non-refundable once the account is opened and trading has begun). The "refund on successful withdrawal" add-on stopped being sold on October 14, 2025
  • ✗Consistency at withdrawal (Profit Distribution): the cap on how much of your withdrawal request can come from a single day's profit is 40% for $25K and under, 30% for $50K-$200K
  • ✗1 Step's split is 80% (90% with a +35% add-on)
  • ✗No opening or closing within 10 minutes of high-impact releases
  • ✗A trade (or combined concurrent positions) whose stop-loss risk or realized loss exceeds 2.5% of the account balance is banned as gambling-style trading
  • ✗No Japanese support
  • ✗⚠️ Only about 30 Trustpilot reviews - an order of magnitude fewer than FTMO's 40,000 or Fintokei's 1,042. Of these, 15% are 1-star
  • ✗⚠️ There are reports that the company doesn't respond to trader complaints

FAQ

Q

Are SuperFunded and Eightcap Challenges the same company?

The counterparty named in the terms (General Terms and Conditions V.2, dated January 22, 2026) is Eightcap International Ltd for both. The format of the rules tables is nearly identical too, but the plans' targets, max loss, profit caps, and splits differ. Japan is not on the restricted-country list (confirmed September 27, 2026).

Q

What is the profit cap?

Your first 3 withdrawals can only receive up to 5% of the account. On a $100K account that's a $5,000 cap per withdrawal (before the split); profit above that is forfeited, removed when the account resets to its original balance. Gambling-style trading extends this capped window by another 3 withdrawals. In other words, the account goes back to its initial balance at every withdrawal, and you take out all the profit each time.

Q

How does the max loss move on 1 Step?

It's "trailing" - it rises to track your highest equity. In the rules' example, a $10,000 account with a 2.5% limit starts at $9,750, and once your highest equity reaches $11,000, the line rises to $10,750. Once the line goes up, it doesn't come back down. Nothing in the rules says it stops at the initial balance, so the more profit you make, the more the line keeps tracking you. 2 Step is fixed at 10% below the initial balance.

Q

What's the profit split?

For 2 Step, it's 70% on your first withdrawal, 80% on your second, and 90% from your third on. For 1 Step, it's 80%, which you can raise to 90% with a +35% add-on on the fee.

Q

What's the withdrawal cycle?

You can make your first request 14 days after opening the account, and every 14 days after your previous request from then on (7 days with a +30% add-on). You can request from $100 and up, after the split. At the withdrawal stage, you need a minimum of 3 trading days for 1 Step and 5 for 2 Step. The review may require a phone or video call.

Q

Is the fee refunded?

No. The fee becomes non-refundable once the account is opened and trading has begun. The "refund on successful withdrawal" add-on that used to exist stopped being sold on October 14, 2025 (still valid for anyone who bought it before then).

Q

Are withdrawals reliable? How safe is this firm?

Some caution is warranted. The Trustpilot rating is 4.2, but with only about 30 reviews, that's far too small a sample to trust statistically (compare 40,000 for FTMO, 1,042 for Fintokei). 1-star reviews make up 15%, and there are also reports that the company doesn't respond to trader complaints. Before committing serious money, we'd recommend running a small cycle first to confirm you can actually withdraw.

Q

How many accounts can I hold?

Up to $900,000 combined across all accounts. That said, one person creating multiple profiles is banned, and detecting multiple accounts from the same or related IP addresses is a violation.

Q

Can I use EAs (automated trading)?

Yes, EAs are listed as "Allowed" in the rules table (HFT, tick-scalping, and arbitrage are banned at the funded stage). On a TradeLocker account, a Python automated-trading bot can also run via the TradeLocker API - we've verified this works in live use on this site (July 2026). The tech stack is covered in our live-use report. We calculate the one-year expected value in SuperFunded expected value.
