⚠️September 28, 2026: risk per trade idea, the striking system and the profit concentration policy removed

Removed on both evaluation and Master accounts. Minimum trading days now start at 0 and the daily loss limit is selectable (1 Step Flex, 2 Step Flex, 2 Step Pro, 2 Step Standard; Zero is not included). Only accounts bought after the change get the new rules; existing accounts keep their current rules (stated on the official Trading Objectives page). The Striking System and similar explanations on this page apply to accounts on the old rules. Details of the change

Pros and cons

+Pros

  • ✓Payout track record verified by a third party (Payout Junction shows $167M total across 127,000 payouts)
  • ✓Trustpilot 4.5 (52,000+ reviews) with a 99% response rate to negative reviews
  • ✓Payouts are processed within 1-3 business days of the request; some countries get Pay to Card payouts in under 30 minutes
  • ✓2 Step Pro starts at just $29 ($422 for $100K, confirmed on the official site on September 27, 2026)
  • ✓2 Step Standard refunds the challenge fee after your 4th payout on a Master account (not available on the other models)
  • ✓Max loss is static (based on the starting account size) on every model except Zero - the line doesn't move even after you take a payout
  • ✓Hot Seat scaling can grow an account up to $2M
  • ✓Payout on Demand (withdraw anytime) supported
  • ✓Profit split can rise to as much as 100%
  • ✓Supports MT5, Match Trader, cTrader, and TradeLocker
  • ✓Your own EAs and copy trading (between your own accounts) are allowed

-Cons

  • ✗⚠️ The official policy is a single line: "connecting via VPN or VPS is not permitted." Third-party sources consistently describe a workaround (send your static IP to support to get it whitelisted), but this isn't confirmed. If you plan to run an EA around the clock on a VPS, ask support to name the exact procedure before buying
  • ✗⚠️ Fully automated use of a self-built EA requires proof of ownership (uncompiled source, development history, etc. - a compiled binary alone isn't enough)
  • ✗⚠️ Account closures for Risk Per Trade Idea violations are the most common complaint in reviews. This applies to Master accounts on 2 Step Flex/Zero (3% under $50K, 2% at $50K and above) and the old 2 Step Standard Master with a 10% target ($25K-under $50K 3%, $50K and above 2%)
  • ✗⚠️ There are reports that changes to the PRIME program moved consistently winning traders onto trailing drawdown and lower profit splits
  • ✗No Japanese-language support
  • ✗cTrader access costs an extra $20
  • ✗The Zero plan bans news trading and weekend holding, and its drawdown is trailing
  • ✗Weekend holding on Master accounts is currently suspended (since January 29, 2026 - positions are auto-closed on Fridays)
  • ✗⚠️ Striking System: you get a warning once the floating loss on a single trade idea reaches 1.2% on a 2 Step Standard (8% target) Master account over $25K, or 1% on any size of 1 Step Flex Master. The 1st strike deducts the profit, the 2nd halves your split, the 3rd drops it to 20%, and the 4th closes the account. Strikes are not reset by payouts. Choosing the monthly 100% payout cycle lowers the threshold to 1% on every size
  • ✗The challenge fee is only refunded on 2 Step Standard (on your 4th payout). 1 Step Flex, 2 Step Pro, 2 Step Flex, and Zero don't refund it
  • ✗If a single trade earns more than 60% of your target during the evaluation, you'll need 4 profitable days per payout on the Master account (Profit Concentration Policy)
  • ✗A single challenge tops out at $200K ($2M requires scaling)

  • ✗⚠️ Connecting to your account via VPN or VPS ("Connecting to a VPN or VPS while accessing your trading account is not permitted" is stated explicitly. It's a single line in the identity-verification section with no exceptions listed. If you plan to run automated trading, confirm this before buying)
  • ✗Fully automated trading with someone else's EA (only allowed as a trade manager/risk manager; violations void the evaluation/payout and close the account)
  • ✗Churning and burning (using up and discarding accounts)
  • ✗Importing external signals (copy trading that makes your account a slave/follower)
  • ✗Third-party account management (immediate account closure)
  • ✗Striking System: on Master accounts over $25K, you get a warning each time a single trade idea's floating loss reaches 1.2%. 4 strikes closes the account (cumulative for the account's lifetime, never reset)
  • ✗Risk Per Trade Idea: causes immediate account closure on 2 Step Flex and Zero Master accounts (3% under $50K, 2% at $50K+) and on the old 2 Step Standard Master with a 10% target (removed under $25K, 3% from $25K-under $50K, 2% at $50K+). The current 8%-target 2 Step Standard has the Striking System instead

FAQ

Q

Are payouts reliable? How safe is it?

On payout reliability, this is one of the stronger firms among those we've researched. The third-party tracking service Payout Junction has verified $167 million total across 127,000 payouts, including a single payout over $140,000. Trustpilot sits at 4.5 (52,000+ reviews), with 82% five-star. The team also responds to 99% of negative reviews, which says something about how the operation is run. Processing takes 1-3 business days from the request, plus another 1-2 days for the funds to arrive; the 14 countries with Pay to Card support see funds land within 30 minutes. That said, the main complaint isn't refused payouts - it's account closures for Risk Per Trade Idea violations. That rule applies to 2 Step Flex and Zero Master (Funded) accounts (3% under $50K, 2% at $50K+) and to the old 2 Step Standard Master with a 10% target. The current 8%-target 2 Step Standard has the Striking System instead (a warning on Master accounts over $25K every time floating loss hits 1.2%, with account closure on the 4th). Automated trading can trip this rule without meaning to, so which plan you pick and how you manage lot size make a real difference. There are also reports that changes to the PRIME program moved consistently winning traders onto trailing drawdown with a lower split. The realistic read is: payout reliability is high, but rule enforcement is strict.

Q

Can I change my strategy mid-challenge or after passing?

Yes, freely. The official Account Policy states: "FundingPips offers the freedom to customize your approach within the limits of lot sizes, leverage, and the provided rules. You can trade the way you want" - and there's no consistency rule. Switching from trend-following to counter-trend is fine under the rules. That said, the per-trade risk limit (Risk Per Trade Idea) still applies after any change: it covers 2 Step Flex and Zero Master accounts (3% under $50K, 2% at $50K+) and the old 2 Step Standard Master with a 10% target. The current 8%-target 2 Step Standard (over $25K) uses the Striking System with a 1.2% threshold, and 1 Step Flex Master accounts have a 1% threshold at every size - a warning on each hit, account closure on the 4th. *Confirmed on the official help center on September 27, 2026.

Q

Can I run a self-built EA fully automated? Can I use a VPS?

Yes, fully automated use of a self-built EA is allowed, but you'll be asked for proof of ownership. The official policy says: "If the EA is your own, developed by you, full automation is permitted with proof of ownership," and lists what counts as evidence - uncompiled source code (.mq5 / .mq4), version-control history showing the development process, evidence of your development environment (screenshots, compile logs, file paths under your user directory), or explaining the logic on a call with the team. It also states explicitly: "A compiled binary on its own is not proof" - because anyone who downloads it could have one. Someone else's EA can only be used as a trade manager/risk manager; using it for full automation voids the evaluation/payout and closes the account (the $1K Instant account is the one exception, where third-party EAs and copying are allowed; monthly competition accounts ban all EAs, including self-built ones). VPS use is where the sources disagree. The official help center has a single line - "Connecting to a VPN or VPS while accessing your trading account is not permitted" - with no exceptions listed. Several third-party review sites, on the other hand, all describe a specific procedure: set up a VPS with a static IP, email that IP to support to get it whitelisted, and submit proof of ownership (such as the VPS invoice) if asked. The fact that the procedure is this specific suggests it was probably published by the firm at some point, though the Wayback Machine has no earlier version of the page to confirm a wording change. We also haven't found any reports of accounts being closed over VPS use. If you're planning to run automated trading, confirming this before you buy is essential - rather than asking "Can I use a VPS?", it's more effective to name the procedure and ask "Can I get a VPS's static IP whitelisted in advance?" Save the answer if you get approval. Multiple ISPs and multiple devices within the same city are explicitly allowed. *Confirmed with the official help center and third-party sources in September 2026.

Q

Can I run the same EA across multiple FundingPips accounts?

Yes. The official FAQ states clearly: "Trading the same directional strategy across your own personal accounts is not considered opposite account trading." Copy trading between your own accounts under the same name is also allowed. What's banned is copying between different users' accounts, coordinated hedging where you hold opposite positions across accounts to lock in a win, and copy trading that pulls in external signals to your own account. Using your own account as a master to copy to an external account is allowed, but use the investor (read-only) password for that - using your main password can trigger extra scrutiny. *Confirmed with the official help center in September 2026.

Q

How many accounts can I hold at once?

You can hold multiple accounts under one profile, but Evaluation, Master, and Prime accounts combined are capped at $400,000. Unlike FTMO or FundedNext, evaluation accounts also count against this cap, so running many challenges in parallel hits the limit more easily. Monthly competition accounts don't count against it.

Q

What is the Striking System?

It's a tiered penalty: a "trade idea" whose floating loss crosses a set threshold gets one strike, and the account closes after 4 strikes accumulate. Normal daily and max drawdown are judged on the whole account, but the Striking System judges each individual trade idea - so you can get a strike even when your overall account drawdown still has room. It applies to 2 Step Standard Master accounts over $25,000 (1.2% threshold) and to 1 Step Flex Master accounts at every size (1.0% threshold). The evaluation phases (Phase 1, Phase 2) aren't covered. For the full mechanics and how to work around it, see our 15-firm rule-leniency comparison.

Q

How does the Striking System define a "trade idea"?

It bundles more together than a "single trade" at other firms. Multiple positions in the same symbol and direction are combined into one idea, and if you close a losing trade and re-enter the same direction within 10 minutes, that also counts as the same idea - carrying over the previous trade's loss into the running total. EAs that stack positions in the same direction, split entries, and re-entering right after a stop-loss can all rack up strikes faster than you'd expect, so be careful.

Q

What happens when I get a strike? Does it clear?

The 1st strike is a warning, and any profit from that idea is excluded from your payout and deducted when you close it. The 2nd strike halves your profit split, the 3rd drops it to 20%, and the 4th closes the account. Positions aren't force-closed, which is the tricky part - you can walk straight into the next strike without noticing. Strikes also don't clear if the floating loss recovers into profit; they accumulate for the life of the account and never reset across payout cycles. The practical approach is to close out before you hit 1.0% (0.9% for 1 Step Flex) rather than aiming right at the threshold.

Q

Which platforms are supported?

Four platforms: MT5, Match Trader, cTrader, and TradeLocker. Only cTrader requires an extra $20 (MT5 came back in 2026).

Q

What's the maximum funding?

A single challenge tops out at $200K (Zero, 2 Step Pro). Reaching Level 4 ("Hot Seat") of the scaling system can grow it up to $2M.

Q

What are the profit splits?

It depends on the plan and your payout cycle. 2 Step Standard: 60% weekly, 80% every 2 weeks, 90% on-demand (35% best-day rule + 2% minimum), 100% monthly. 2 Step Pro: 80% weekly, 100% monthly. 2 Step Flex: 85% every 2 weeks (95% with the add-on), 100% monthly. 1 Step Flex: 85% every 2 weeks, 100% monthly. Zero: 95% every 2 weeks. The 100% monthly option is only for evaluation accounts purchased on or after August 15, 2026, and requires a 35% best-day rule plus 7 days with 0.5%+ profit; it also lowers the Striking System threshold to 1% at every size. The minimum payout amount is 1% of the account size. *Confirmed with the official help center on September 27, 2026.

Q

Is the challenge fee refunded?

Only on 2 Step Standard. Your original challenge fee is refunded when you take your 4th payout on a Master account. The official help center explicitly states that 1 Step Flex, 2 Step Pro, 2 Step Flex, and Zero are not eligible. *Confirmed with the official help center (Reward Methods) on September 27, 2026.

Q

Does taking a payout raise the max-loss line?

No. On 2 Step Standard, 2 Step Pro, 2 Step Flex, and 1 Step Flex, the max loss is a static line based on your starting account size - the official help center writes: "This is a static floor; it never moves." It doesn't move when you take a payout, so leaving profit in the account widens your cushion above that line. Zero is the only one with a 5% trailing drawdown. *Confirmed with the official help center on September 27, 2026.

Q

What's the leverage?

1:100 for the 2 Step models and 1 Step Flex; only Zero (Instant) is 1:50 (and Zero breaks it down further by asset category).

Q

What plans are there? (Where did 1-Step go?)

There are five models now: Zero, 1 Step Flex, 2 Step Standard, 2 Step Flex, and 2 Step Pro. The old "1-Step" was reworked into "1 Step Flex," now with a 12% target, 12% max drawdown, and a fixed 85% split.

Q

What's the cheapest plan?

The 2 Step Pro $5K account, at $29, is the cheapest (though its drawdown is tighter - 6% max / 3% daily). List prices confirmed on the official site on September 27, 2026: 2 Step Standard $36-$522 ($5K-$100K), 2 Step Pro $29-$844 ($5K-$200K), 2 Step Flex $32-$499, 1 Step Flex $66-$533, Zero $60-$888.
