※ This article is based on a full review of the operating status and recent changes at 24 major firms conducted on July 5, 2026. Prices and promotions change frequently, so always check each firm's official site before buying.

Context: the industry situation in July 2026

In June, ATFunded announced a service suspension, once again proving that "even a firm backed by a major broker can stop." The revenue model of challenge-based prop firms continues to be reevaluated industry-wide, and "buy it because it's cheap" is being replaced by "buy from a firm that lasts, at a moment when the terms are good" as the basic strategy for the second half of 2026.

With that in mind, after this site reviewed every firm as of July 5, here are the 5 we judged worth acting on this month.

🥇 Fintokei "Trade World Challenge in Japan 2026" — free, with prizes up to ¥4M

The single biggest opportunity this month. But you need to hurry — entries close Wednesday, July 8, at 8:59 AM.

  • Entry fee: completely free (18+, one account per person)
  • Total prize pool: ¥6.7M–8.7M (cash). ¥2M for 1st place (up to ¥4M depending on entrant count), ¥1.2M for 2nd, ¥600K for 3rd… prizes go all the way down to 22nd place
  • Schedule: starts 9:00 AM on July 8, running through September across 4 stages — qualifiers → main event → losers' bracket → finals
  • Qualifier condition: on a ¥10M notional account, hit +4% (¥400K) with max loss within 10% and 5+ trading days
  • Every entrant gets a discount coupon (10–33% off, scaling with number of entrants)

While most prop firm contests give out "an account" as the prize, this one gives out cash prizes. The qualifier rules (+4%, 10% DD) are actually looser than a real challenge, so it also works as practice before the real thing. There's nothing to lose even if you fail, and the participation coupon alone can cover the cost. Given the added stability of roughly $15M in payouts to Japanese traders and 3 years in the Japanese market, there's no reason to pass this up this month.

👉 For details and entry, see Fintokei's official site. For whether the rules suit you, also see the Fintokei vs. FTMO comparison

🥈 Lark Funding "Golden Trading Competition" — a free $100K account

The other free contest. This one's prize is an account.

  • Entry fee: completely free (just register to enter)
  • Running: July 1–15, 2026 (registration open as of this article's publication)
  • Total prizes worth $500K: 1st = $100K Challenge account, 2nd = 1-Step $100K, 3rd = 1-Step $50K, 4th–5th = 1-Step $25K, 6th–10th = 3-Step $25K, 11th–15th = 3-Step $10K, 16th–25th = $1K Instant
  • Scoring is based on profit rate during the contest, any symbol allowed, with a static drawdown risk-management rule in place

Since it's a demo-account contest, there's nothing to lose. It's designed so that finishing in the top 25 wins you some kind of account or challenge slot. Chasing the top spots tends to favor high-risk, profit-rate-maximizing trading, but even if it blows up, all you lose is time. There's nothing this cost-effective as a prop firm entry point this month.

Note that Lark itself discontinued its old 2-Step plan in early 2026; the current lineup is 1-Step / 3-Step / Instant. See the Lark Funding complete guide for details.

🥉 FundedElite "Flash Activation" — about ¥700, pay after passing

The lowest-cash-risk way to experience a "prop firm evaluation" is Flash Activation, at about $5 (~¥700). And it's a pay-after-you-pass system, so no payment is due until you clear it.

  • Japanese support (site, dashboard, and support included)
  • Low trading cost of $3/lot round-trip
  • Withdrawal cycle customizable from 3 to 21 days

That said, as covered in this site's reputation deep-dive, there are three payout-trouble patterns to watch after going Funded: IP-sharing flags, sub-3-minute scalping, and risk interviews. Go in with a two-stage mindset: "the entry point is dirt cheap, but understanding the rules is essential once you're Funded." It's a good fit for day-trading to swing-trading styles.

#4: Tradeify — a futures prop firm right after its shift to one-time fees

Tradeify 3.0, at the end of March, brought a bold structural change even by futures-prop standards.

  • All evaluations became one-time payments. Monthly billing and renewal fees are gone, activation is $0
  • No time limit, so the pressure of "if I don't pass this month, the cost keeps climbing" has disappeared
  • TradeSea (TradingView-based) and Rithmic connectivity were added, improving platform flexibility
  • June also saw the Elite Live program strengthened (scaling based on live track record)

The biggest weakness of subscription-based futures prop firms (like Topstep) was that "the longer it takes to pass, the more your total cost balloons." Now one-time-fee, Tradeify is a particularly good fit for Japanese traders trading part-time and aiming for a slow, steady pass. The 90/10 profit split remains in place too.

#5: Apex Trader Funding — metals trading returned in May

Apex had suspended trading in all metals contracts (GC/SI/MGC, etc.) back in March, but metals trading resumed across all account types in May 2026. For anyone focused on gold futures, this is the moment "you can go back to Apex."

  • The standing culture of 90%-off-class coupons is alive (e.g. KPQQCFDP; confirm applicability at checkout)
  • Go in assuming Apex 4.0's new rules: one-time fees, EOD trailing drawdown as the standard, mandatory stop-loss/bracket orders (the platform rejects orders without one set), and $99 PA activation
  • The 30%-style consistency rule at withdrawal remains the biggest thing to watch

Old-Apex knowledge (the MAE rule, 5:1 RR, minimum 7 days, etc.) has been abolished under 4.0, so check the current official rules rather than relying on old strategy write-ups.

Plans to "skip" this month

As the flip side of the picks above, here's what's better left unbought this month.

TargetReason
TopstepIn June, the 150K Combine went from $149 to $199, and at the end of April the $50K account's withdrawal cap was lowered. Terms are still in the middle of getting worse, so wait until things settle before buying
MyFundedFutures "Flex"The June revision cut profit split from 90/10 to 80/20 and removed the buffer. Flex's appeal has been eroded. Compare against Core/Rapid before buying (MFFU complete guide)
New FundingPips evaluation accountsThe new policy on news trading and profit concentration applies to evaluation accounts created on or after 6/27. Better to wait 1–2 months until it's clear how it plays out in practice (what actually gets flagged)
ATFundedService has been suspended since June 8. No new purchases possible (details)

Bonus: keep an eye on this one — Hantec's "Endurance"

Hantec Trader's new 3-step plan, "Endurance" ($299 for $100K, the cheapest of the 3-step-class plans), is still marked Coming Soon as of July. A promo code ENDU25 (25% off) has been teased, so it's an instant buy candidate once it launches. Get a head start on the spec analysis in the Endurance full comparison.

Added September 27, 2026: Endurance is officially available as of September 2026 ($299 for $100K). The 8% max loss is static and doesn't move even after withdrawals.

Summary: how to act in July

  1. Enter Fintokei's free contest right now (deadline July 8, 8:59 AM; prizes up to ¥4M; comes with a participation coupon)
  2. Also register for Lark's free contest (through 7/15, also zero risk)
  3. If spending cash, start small with FundedElite at ~¥700 or the now-one-time-fee Tradeify
  4. Gold futures traders should consider coming back with Apex's metals return
  5. Don't chase firms right after a price hike or a rule revision. There's no reason to buy in the month the terms got worse

For a full comparison of terms, see the comparison page; for how loose the rules are across 12 firms, see the rules comparison article.

Is Moneta Instant Pro's Half-Price Coupon Worth It? Comparing Effective DD Room, Break-Even, and Monte Carlo Against Blueberry's Instant [Analysis]

Moneta Instant Pro is $2,650 for $100K with the 50%-off code TOKONATSU50. We lined it up against Blueberry Instant Elite, the other same-day-funded instant plan, on effective DD room (account size × max DD% × profit split), break-even return, and a 40,000-run Monte Carlo. Result: roughly even at $100K, Moneta wins at $10K. Also covers how Blueberry's PRIME50 only applies to Prime 2-Step, not the instant plans, and that both firms' DD is trailing. A deep dive into Instant Funding at Moneta Funded, the prop firm founded by the Moneta Markets founder. $5K for $69 with an 88% split from day one is real, but the split is a 60/88 choice at checkout, the max drawdown became a 5% trailing rule in July 2026, there's a 15/20% consistency rule, news trading is banned, and the first payout takes 14 days — the conditions add up. Four plans ($5K–$200K, from $25), an 80% fixed split, a public dashboard showing a median 38-minute USDC payout time, $2.95M in revenue, and a 15.4% pass rate. Terms state the accounts are '100% simulated' and payouts are 'discretionary,' leverage on FX perps is 25x, and there are mismatches between the FAQ and the rulebook numbers.
